This is an exciting opportunity to support children and teenagers with a primary diagnosis of Autism. A lot of the pupils have other associated additional needs, including ADHD, communication challenges and behaviour needs. You will play a key role in their journey to adulthood, and support them with their education, as well as their social and emotional development.\n\nAs an Autism Support Worker, you will be based in a classroom of 8 students with a primary diagnosis of autism.
You will:\n\nSupport with behaviour management and emotional regulation.\nPromote positive behaviour expression.\nSupport with social skills and independent living skills, such as cooking, money management and personal care.\nImplement strategies advised by educational psychologist and behaviour specialists.\nTake part in training and ongoing professional development such as safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Makaton and Team Teach.This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to support vulnerable students.
